We're always looking to meet potential riders excited to fulfil the dream of racing the course at Ascot. Applications will be reviewed and places allocated based on eligibility and suitability.
To qualify, riders must either:
- Hold a current amateur jockey license, or
- Attend and pass a one-day assessment course at either the British Racing School (Newmarket) or the Northern Racing College (Doncaster). The assessment day is physically demanding but consistently described by past participants as a rewarding and unforgettable experience.
Each rider must:
- Secure their own horse, which must be in training with a licensed trainer under the Rules of Racing.
- Raise a minimum of £5,000 for our chosen charities.
Please note: Riders are responsible for covering the cost of their own equipment and travel during training and preparation. If you foresee this as a barrier to entry, please let us know in the ‘Additional information’ section of the application form.
